The First Post
Yes, it's the first post. Savor it, because it'll be gone in 14 days...
But you probably don't care that much.
And there might be another one before then.
This being the first post as I just showed you above, I'll start it with a rant.
People are morons.
Don't say that you aren't one of those people, because it's just not true. Everyone is a moron at some point, and there is no stopping it. The best way to avoid it, in my opinion, is just to ignore it. If that strategy fails, try making fun of yourself when you discover that you've been being smart like an actor (which is a bad thing). This is just part of the Dilbert Principle, which is outline in the book of the same name, written by Scott Adams. But enough about that. Where, you may be asking, is the proof of all this stupidity? I say it is all around us. Nearly everything that we see in everyday life is a product of either extreme stupidity or insanity. How's this for an example?
17th Century Europeans were a stupid lot. Okay, so they estableshed colonies in the Americas. Was that such a smart move? I think not. It just created more political tension in the world which eventually escalated into all the politics that we see today. I can also blame it for stress, which is kind of an alternative reason for hate and all that. (For more on this topic, visit Odd Field's most recent rant.) But that's only one example of moronicy (is that even a word?) in 17th Century Europe. Another good one; taking African people and using them as slaves. Possibly one of the worst moves that they could have made. In the short term, it was cool for them, but look at all of the problems it has created just for this country in recent years. If people had never been take from their homelands, we would be nearly devoid of racism; poverty would be greatly reduced. Did you ever notice that not a whole lot of African people come to the Americas anymore? If the original slaves had never come, there would be very few of them now, virtually eliminating racism. Also on this topic is that newly freed slaves had literally no money, and that problem still lives to this day, because it really is hard to actually gain money. But enough about the stupidity of colonizing the Americas. The Crusades happened kind of around that time, and religions became more widespread. I say this at the risk of offending some people, but I think religion itself is a pretty stupid idea.
What's the relevance of this? From about that point on, modern conveniences began piling up, and the world began to resemble what we now recognize as what we live in. And now, is the whole point of this rant. My law of Conservation of Stupidity, which states that...
Stupidity is never lost in the universe. It can only be changed into different forms and transferred between areas. With an increase in entropy by a factor of 2, stupidity increases by a factor of 6.An (very simple) equation can be used model this theory:
Ti=3SiWhere Ti is the increase in stupidity and Si is the increase in entropy.
Well, I think I've ranted myself out for now, so I just say this:
